Pokemon Fan Designs Regional Variants for Cinderace, Sprigatito, and Empoleon

Fans have already begun speculating which starter Pokemon will be featured in the next major Pokemon title, and one creative member of the community has even designed new forms for Meowscarada, Cinderace, and Empoleon in anticipation. While most new Pokemon titles do introduce entirely new sets of starter Pokemon to befriend, the slightly alternative methods employed in the earlier Pokemon Legends: Arceus may have given fans all they need to predict which critters will appear in the next big title.

Generally, the formula for implementing starter Pokemon has remained almost entirely unchanged since the very first Pokemon games were released in 1996. The Grass, Water, and Fire types have been the only types used by starter Pokemon since the very beginning, not taking into account the various evolved starter forms that evolve secondary types. The design trends seen in starter Pokemon have certainly changed and adapted through the years, but the overall mechanism remains and seems to extend even to the Pokemon Legends games. While Pokemon Legends: Arceus presented a very different experience from that which fans are used to, it still forced them to choose only one of the three adorable starting critters.

In celebration of the recently announced Pokemon Legends: Z-A title, one member of the Pokemon community has predicted which starter Pokemon might take the spotlight next year, and even designed new forms for these species. One of Pokemon Legends: Arceus' most interesting changes was how it reused a random selection of starters from across the previous games rather than introducing new ones, while also breathing new life into its selection of starters by granting them new regional forms. The creator of these custom designs has brought the Electric type to Cinderace, the Ice type in addition to Meowscarada's Grass type, and the Fairy type to replace Empoleon's secondary Steel type, giving them entirely new appearances to boot.
