"Pathetic": Fans React In Anger To New Fallout 4 Update

Despite its rekindled popularity, just can't seem to catch a break as Bethesda's latest update manages to break the game even more, angering veterans and newcomers alike. Following the success of Prime Video's streaming series, has seen a massive resurgence in players as the most recent dedicated single-player RPG in the franchise and while that's been a boon for the community, the recent «next-gen» patches have only hampered the experience. The latest release, which was meant to fix many of the game's most recently introduced problems, has only managed to make things worse.

Over on X (formerly Twitter), players have lashed out at Bethesda for releasing what many are deeming a "" attempt at improving the game.

User PC_Nation_ complained that the latest patch managed to break the community's most popular mods just a few days after many of the add-ons were reworked to be compatible with the «next-gen» update. Players have even taken to requesting that Bethesda just leave the game alone, demanding that no future updates be released, and are instead turning to the aforementioned modders to fix any of the lingering issues.

There's a lot to love about Fallout 4, but there are also plenty of problems that have persisted over the years, especially compared to alternatives.

It's worth noting that while PC players have expressed anger toward the studio, those on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are generally happy with the improvement, especially the inclusion of a new option that allows graphic fidelity and performance to be adjusted. The addition of a Frame Rate Target feature on consoles has also been hailed as a success.

PC players may be eager to return to the Commonwealth and pick up their journey but it might be worth waiting for a few days
