Forza Motorsport Update 6 Finally Fixes Frustrating Progression, New Car Pass Rides Added

Since launch late last year, Forza Motorsport has received a bit of a mixed reaction from fans, with one of the biggest criticisms being against the game’s grindy progression system. Every car in the game has a number of parts and systems you can tinker with, but in order to do so, you need to level up and this leveling needs to be done with every car you want to upgrade. Needless to say, this gets pretty grindy!

Thankfully, Forza Motorsports Update 6 basically casts aside all grinding that was once required to upgrade your ride. Now all parts are available at Car Level 1. You’ll still need “Car Points,” earned by leveling your car, to upgrade it, but you can now trade Forza Motorsport’s basic in-game Credits for Car Points. Here’s how it all works…

“With the changes coming to Car Progression in Forza Motorsport Update 6, you will have the freedom to equip the parts you want to install on your car regardless of Car Level. The first change is to remove the level restriction on performance parts, making them all available at Car Level 1. This allows players to install parts in any order they wish, regardless of Car Level. Whether it's engine swaps, race tires, or body kits, you will have the freedom to build cars your way.

Secondly, players can use in-game Credits to acquire Car Points when exiting the upgrade screen at a ratio of 4,500 Credits for 500 Car Points. This change gives you a choice to immediately upgrade your car using Credits, or if you're saving your Credits, you can earn Car Points for upgrades through car leveling as before.”

Those who have purchased the Forza Motorsport Car Pass (the equivalent of a season pass) can look forward to four new rides over the coming weeks, including…
