Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a new turn-based RPG inspired by French art

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a “reactive turn-based RPG inspired by the lavish art and culture of France’s Belle Époque”, has been revealed during the Xbox Games Showcase at Summer Game Fest 2024.

It tells the story of Gustave and his expedition that sets out to defeat the Paintress: an unknown enemy threatening to wipe out humanity.

It’s the debut title of Sandfall Interactive: a studio founded in France in 2020. Set to be published by Kepler Interactive, it’s slated to release in 2025 on Xbox Series consoles and PC via Steam. The reveal trailer confirmed it will also release on PS5 and be included in Game Pass.
