CDPR Might Not Be Finished With Cyberpunk 2077 Just Yet

CD Projekt Red may insist that it's done working on but that may only be half the story. Having been released in an unfinished state back in 2020, the studio has worked tirelessly over the last three years to deliver the product that was initially promised to consumers, concluding with the launch of the excellent 2.0 Update and. As CDPR looks to the future, game director Gabe Amatangelo explains that there could still be some room to grow in some very small ways.

Speaking on the podcast, when asked if the studio is developing anything new for, Amatangelo explained that there "" but insisted that nothing big is in the pipeline.

The director notes that if an opportunity were to present itself and someone at the company was invested enough in the idea, he could see dedicating some time to patching it into . Despite this reassurance, Amatangelo made it clear that CDPR is more focused on other projects so no other major updates are currently planned.

While Amatangelo doesn't elaborate too much on the point, the director does note that CDPR is largely funneling its resources into several other major projects, including a sequel to . Codenamed «Project Orion,» next to nothing is known about the game's development but the studio has confirmed that it's been designated a sizable team as it enters into full-scale production. A release window has yet to be provided but given how long the original game took, it's highly likely that the sequel is still quite a few years away from launch.
