Cyberpunk 2077 Fan Fixes One Of Johnny Silverhand's Most Annoying Problems

Johnny Silverhand is one of the most popular characters in so players wishing they could hang out more with Keanu Reeves' rockstar are in luck because a new mod makes him far more social. In the vanilla version of CD Projekt Red's RPG, the projection of Johnny's consciousness, which is embedded in protagonist V's head, appears throughout the story to both offer advice to players and just offer his thoughts on the current state of Night City. Unfortunately, those wanting to relax with Silverhand can only do so in V's original apartment, even if they own other properties.

Over on Nexus Mods, creator Deceptious shared their creation that eliminates that problem as the «Here's Johnny» mod tweaks to ensure that Johnny Silverhand can appear at any and all of the properties V is able to purchase during their career as a mercenary. These include The Glen, Corpo Plaza, and Japantown, as well as the basic starter home that all players gain upon completing the opening mission. Johnny can also show up in smaller safehouses, like Northside Motel, which aren't necessarily considered places where V can set down roots.

The mod is more than just an aesthetic change as Johnny can also pass the time by playing his guitar, an option that the player can select. If V grows impatient with the person living in their head they can simply choose to dismiss him, prompting the projection to disappear. This also happens if V manages to bring a date home or if they choose to go to sleep.

While «Here's Johnny» may be a simple mod in terms of what it sets out to achieve, it does solve one of the community's longest-standing gripes with the game. Ever since RPG launched in 2020, players have expressed confusion regarding Silverhand ignoring all of V's apartments except for the most basic option. While it's not essential that he follow V around at all times, he's still incredibly popular and many people like having Keanu Reeves just hanging out in their living room.
