Akuma's Iconic 'Raging Demon' Looks Insane in Latest Street Fighter 6 Gameplay Trailer

Players will soon be able to master the Satsui no Hado in Street Fighter 6 as the iconic Akuma is set to join the roster on May 22. Akuma is the final character included in SF6’s Year 1 Character Pass.

A new trailer showcasing Akuma’s gameplay features the aged but still ferocious fighter with all of his legendary moves intact. Akuma fanatics will still be able to dive kick, teleport, and air fireball to their content’s content in SF6. The iconic Raging Demon is back, too. And it looks as insane as ever.

The trailer’s accompanying PlayStation Blog update reveals additional details about Akuma’s moveset in SF6. One wrinkle to Akuma’s moveset is the ability to charge up his basic fireball in order to release a red fireball. A partial charge will give the fireball the ability to deal two hits, allowing it to pierce most non-Overdrive fireball moves.

Akuma’s teleport has some new tricks, too. Players can surprise their opponents with a new move called “Oboro Throw” that can be activated mid-teleport.

Adamant Flame, a new move, gives Akuma the equivalent of Ryu’s donkey kick. And lastly, Akuma can use Raging Demon to end combos when used as at low health as a Critical Art.
