World of Warcraft Might Add New Evoker Mechanic to Other Classes Soon

World of Warcraft updated the tooltip for Empowered spells to no longer say “Only for Evokers,” indicating the new Dragonflight mechanic could appear in other classes in the future. While it may be a side effect of its new Plunderstorm game mode, World of Warcraft could be planning to spread these chargeable skills elsewhere.

Empowered spells are a new type of ability introduced in Dragonflight. Unique to the draconic Evoker class from the latest World of Warcraft expansion, these abilities can be charged up and released at will, with each level increasing the effects, targets, or area of effect of the spell.

The tooltip describing how Empowered spells work used to say “Only for Evokers” to avoid confusion. However, Wowhead discovered this part of the tooltip has been removed in Patch 10.2.6, which could mean World of Warcraft is planning on using the mechanic elsewhere.

Technically, this tooltip change might simply be because of Plunderstorm, but it could also be a set-up for new or reworked abilities in The War Within or beyond.

Fans are already speculating on what sorts of abilities they would like to see use the Empowered mechanic in World of Warcraft. Classes like Mage would be a perfect fit for the Arcane or Fire specializations, but others suggest Marksmanship Hunters in World of Warcraft could use it as an awesome
