World of Warcraft Making Controversial Change to Taivan

World of Warcraft just drastically reduced the size of the new Taivan mount it added in Patch 10.2.6. This unpopular change has been quite controversial with World of Warcraft players who are striving for the mount, as Taivan’s colossal size was a core aspect of both his story and his appeal.

In Patch 10.2.6, World of Warcraft added a new meta achievement called A World Awoken. Earning this milestone requires players to earn over 100 individual achievements strewn across the Dragon Isles, including some frustrating tasks involving the Primal Storms public event in World of Warcraft. Fans who finish A World Awoken are rewarded with Taivan, a huge, hound-like bakar mount players met in the Ohn’ahran Plains.

Despite Taivan’s massive size, he is not good at hunting, shepherding, or any other typical bakar tasks, but his gentle heart and impressive strength make him the perfect rescue hound and therapy companion. Downsizing the dog literally undermines the entire point of Taivan’s story.

Needless to say, players aren’t happy about this sudden nerf to Taivan’s size. The change was undocumented and sudden, leaving many fans wondering why it happened in the first place. Players have voiced their
