The Free Game On Epic Games Store For March 14 Is Worth The Wait

The Epic Games Store is giving away the acclaimed sci-fi title as part of its free weekly giveaway on March 14, 2024. As is the case with every giveaway, the game will be completely free through the Epic Games Store until 11:00 AM ET on the following Thursday, March 21, 2024, when another free game will become available instead.

As per the Epic Games Store, will be free alongside The Quantum Astrophysicists Guild's gravity-shifting puzzler, on March 14. Until then, Wild Rooster's new top-down sci-fi combat game is the store's free title.

As with all Epic Games Store giveaways, once players have claimed each title, it is theirs to keep even after the free giveaway has ended.

is the fifth and most recent entry in the action role-playing franchise. The title takes place two years after the events of 2011's, a prequel that revived the franchise after it went dormant for 8 years following the commercial underperformance of .

The mainline titles have all been well received, with their scores ranking within the 80s and 90s on Metacritic, and are often referred to as staples of the Cyberpunk genre. Unfortunately, a sequel to was reportedly canceled in 2017, abruptly ending Adam Jensen's story, and a recent project that was in the works at Eidos Montréal was canceled early this year in the wake of a massive restructuring that saw 97 layoffs, meaning players likely won't get to return to the series' dystopian future any time soon.
