The Best Roguelike You've Never Played Arrives On Xbox Game Pass April 30

While Xbox Game Pass subscribers are no doubt trying to play some of the bigger releases of April, those wanting to experience an exceptional roguelike that didn't receive the hype that he deserved should keep their eyes peeled for the end of the month. With major Day-One launches like the JRPG and the sleeper early-access hit , April has proven to be an especially successful month for Microsoft as its catalog of offered games grew with some excellent titles. To cap off such a big month, an excellent indie gem is exactly what users need.

As revealed by Microsoft on the official Xbox blog, Magic Design Studios' excellent action roguelike will land on Xbox Game Pass on April 30, ending the month on a strong note. Originally released in March 2023, the 2D hack-and-slash title debuted to great reviews and earned a cult following for its sharp, intuitive combat that was complemented by excellent progression and level design. Despite these traits, not enough people check it out upon release, so when it drops on Game Pass hopefully it's able to lock down an even bigger audience.

Straddling the line between grim and adorable, places players into the cloak of the titular Death, the grim reaper responsible for establishing Death Inc., a corporation that helps guide people to the afterlife in a less than pleasant fashion. Through a lengthy quest that takes the protagonist through every level of the company, users will encounter many creatures unwilling to pass away as well as quirky allies that will help Death accomplish his morbid goal.
