Fallout 4 Now Has One Of The Series' Most Controversial RPG Mechanics

Despite its widespread inclusion, the system is widely hated by fans who have criticized it for being obtuse, poorly implemented, and arbitrary in what it deems to be good or evil.

However, over on Nexus Mods, user bp42s shared their solution for fans who want to experience Karma while playing, a game that famously dropped the much-maligned mechanic. The add-on introduces a "" that can be monitored through a new Pip-Boy tab and even includes titles depending on the Sole Survivor's Karmic standing, much like in. To make things even better, the mod is fully customizable with a wealth of options for players to tweak to help create a Karma system that best suits what they want out of the game.

Aside from adding the customizable Karma system to, bp42s went out of their way to ensure that the minor expansion will work for nearly all versions of the game. Following Bethesda's announcement that another «next-gen» update will be released for the game in the near future, many members of the community feared that their mods would cease to function. Fortunately, this won't be the case for the Karma mod which will be compatible with the new patch when it's eventually rolled out across all platforms.

While there are doubtless those who enjoy the Karma mechanic in older Bethesda RPGs, the system is widely considered to be outdated and poorly realized.
