Terraria Dev Responds to Stardew Valley Update 1.6 News

One of the creators of Terraria has taken to social media to respond to the latest update announcement for Stardew Valley. The announcement of the 1.6 update for Stardew Valley came on the life simulator’s milestone anniversary and has sparked further interest in the indie game.

Thanks to strong word of mouth and generally favorable reviews, interest in the life sim has been strong over the years. Stardew Valley even had a short-term 50% discount on Steam for the game’s eighth anniversary. Fans promptly acted on the 24-hour flash sale, which saw Stardew Valley rocket toward the top of the Steam charts and is currently the fifth-best-selling game on the platform. In light of Stardew Valley’s latest achievements, one fellow indie developer has taken to social media to celebrate.

Whitney «Cenx» Spinks, one of the creators of fellow indie game Terraria, has taken to social media to recognize Stardew Valley’s recent announcements. In a celebratory post congratulating ConcernedApe’s efforts, Cenx thanks him directly for producing such a beloved game. The post ends with a remark jokingly announcing the next Terraria update is delayed because of Stardew Valley’s additions.

The Stardew Valley 1.6 update is set to release on PC on March 19, with console and mobile updates to follow shortly after. The patch is set to bring substantial updates including a new festival, seasonal outfits for the citizens of Pelican Town, and extended end-game content. Fans will be excited to note that the multiplayer mode will also be expanded from 4 players to a fully-fledged 8-player co-op experience.

Much like Stardew Valley, Terraria is one of the most successful indie games of recent times. Originally released in 2011, the 2D sandbox exploration game has become a standout title for PC and console players, clocking upwards of 40 million sales. The Labor of Love update was the last major update for Terraria launched in 2022. Since the last major update, Cenx and the rest of the Re-logic team have
