Switch Online members can play Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope free this week

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is currently free to play for Nintendo Switch Online members.

The subscription service’s latest free game trial is running until July 14.

During this time, Switch Online members can freely access the whole of Ubisoft Milan’s single-player turn-based tactics game.

Like its 2017 predecessor, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, Sparks of Hope was released in 2022 exclusively for Nintendo’s console.

Ubisoft also released three DLC packs for the game last year, including a Rayman add-on and a new combat game mode which is available exclusively with the title’s season pass.

VGC’s Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope review called it “a massively enjoyable, if a bit safe, galaxy-spanning Rabbid romp”.

Despite strong reviews, Sparks of Hope disappointed commercially following its release, and Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot even suggested the publisher should have held its launch back for Nintendo’s next console.

Nintendo of America recently launched a new seven-day trial for Switch Online.

While the promotion isn’t open to current subscribers, it is available to players who have previously redeemed a free trial offer.
