Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble DLC includes Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy

Sega has announced plans to release four characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise as DLC for Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble.

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy will be available to purchase individually, or bundled together in the game’s $24.99/£22.29 Sega Pass, which will also include two yet to be announced characters from “iconic Sega franchises”, plus 15 Sega-themed character customisation items.

The four Sonic characters will be playable in Adventure and Battle modes. Each will have unique stats to help them, while in-game pick-ups will switch from bananas to gold rings.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Rumble will be released exclusively for Nintendo Switch on June 25. The standard edition of the game is priced at $49.99/£39.99.

The Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the Sega Pass DLC, is priced at $69.99/£59.99. All content included in the Sega Pass is scheduled to be released “over the coming months”.

The latest Super Monkey Ball game features over 200 brand-new stages with optional motion controls.

There’s also a new spin dash move that lets players blast over obstacles and create shortcuts to their objective.

The game supports four-player local co-op and up to 16-player online battles in modes including Race (be the first to the finish line), Banana Hunt (grab the falling bananas), and Robot Smash (team up to defeat robots).
