Should You Level Past 150 In Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree?

With the introduction of an entirely new progression system in , it can be hard to know if it's possible to be overleveled for the DLC — especially past the «standard» endgame level of 150. With the bosses and enemies in bringing a new level of challenge to the game, some players may find themselves split between wanting as much power as possible and wanting to still retain the DLC's difficulty by not being too high of a level.

In the base game of, a Rune Level of 150 ended up being one of the de facto stopping points for many players, as it's the point where players can hit softcaps on multiple stats, comfortably be able to beat most of the game's later bosses, and stay within the level ranges of other players for PVP or co-op purposes. With the addition of the Shadow Realm Blessing in , though, it can be hard to know if it's still worth engaging with the normal leveling system for players who've already reached a high enough level.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree offers players a brand new buff called the Scadutree Blessing which can be leveled up to give them some major perks.

In,Scadutree Blessing levels contribute significantly more to a character's power level than individual Rune Levels past 150. Especially when leveling any stat past its designated softcap, Rune Levels in have significant diminishing returns, and past level 150, players may want to spend their runes on resources like crafting materials, consumables, or upgrade materials — especially since the high cost of leveling will mean that even some bosses won't give enough runes for a single level.

However, though the power difference might be minimal, players may still want to invest runes in levels — many weapons in have multiple stat requirements, and putting points towards stats that players may not have invested in can allow them to use some of the interesting new tools that the DLC has to offer.
