PlayStation’s next State of Play broadcast is coming next week, it’s claimed

Sony will stream a new State of Play presentation next week, it’s been claimed.

Giant Bomb reporter Jeff Grubb said on September 12 that he expected Sony to hold a State of Play in “12ish” days, and he doubled down on that in another podcast on Wednesday.

Sony’s next State of Play is “almost certainly happening on the 24th”, he said today.

If it does hold a State of Play presentation next week, the event could be used to announce the long-anticipated Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, which was recently rated by the ESRB.

Grubb also said he’d heard about another PlayStation remaster that’s in the works, which is “even less exciting” than Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, and that it could be revealed at next week’s event too.

PlayStation’s upcoming releases include Lego Horizons, which could be released in mid-November, and Bungie’s Marathon, which is reportedly targeting a 2025 release.

The last State of Play took place in May and featured titles including Astro Bot, Concord, Dynasty Warriors Origins, Monster Hunter Wilds and the PC version of God of War Ragnarök.

Sony used a technical presentation last week to unveil the long-anticipated PS5 Pro, which will launch in November priced at $700 / £700 / €800.

September’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue and Classics titles launched on Tuesday. They include The Plucky Squire, Night in the Woods, Under the Water, Secret Agent Clank and Mister Mosquito.
