Penny's Big Breakaway Releases New Update

A new update has been released for Penny's Big Breakaway that includes many improvements. Penny's Big Breakaway shadow dropped on February 21, making waves for gamers who love platformers. The game is developed by Evening Star, a studio comprised of Sonic Mania's developers, and it showcases flashy colors and retro-influenced visuals that blend the look of 2D and 3D. These elements garnered attention from fans of indie games as well as players who enjoyed Sonic Mania and may have been hoping for a follow-up.

While there are plenty of platforming games to play, the distinguishing feature of Penny's Big Breakaway is the way players move through the world. Players who control have access to a YoYo that enables dashing and latching onto structures that boost the player's momentum. Continuing to do tricks with Penny and her YoYo increases the game's combo counter and adds to points gained overall.

This update for Penny's Big Breakaway adjusts performance and fixes bugs in several areas. The changes implemented help keep Penny from getting stuck on wall ledges and at the end of ziplines, prevents infinite falling glitches during the World's Edge boss encounter, prevents disconnection from Penny's YoYo during the Whirl move, and much more. Additionally, along with plenty of other features, the patch introduces a fullscreen option for PC players, adds a quick restart to Time Attack, and adds a depth of field option for video. Some of the many repairs made are the water splash VFX and issues with motion consistency when Penny is ejected from the Suction Pipe. Ideally, all of these changes will make playing general gameplay and collecting achievements in Penny's Big Breakaway much easier.

Evening star creative director Christian Whitehead mentioned that the patch is pending for consoles, and that the Nintendo Switch will be getting a patch for 60fps. This will allow the game to have an unlocked frame rate that can reach up to 60fps.

Players who own the game on Switch are excited
