Minecraft Releases Brand-New Bedrock Update

Minecraft has released a new update for its Bedrock edition that makes a big change to Wolves, adds new experimental features for users to try out, and implements a variety of bug fixes and improvements. Wolves have been a hot topic recently after a previous Minecraft update made additional changes to the mob.

A recent Minecraft Preview update added eight new Wolf variants, with each one being themed around a certain biome. Not only does each variant have a unique coat that matches its biome, but the variants also spawn in different pack sizes. Variants like the Striped Wolf can spawn in packs of four to eight, while the Snowy Wolf variant always spawns alone. As Wolves are becoming a more central part of Minecraft's traditional gameplay, Mojang has made additional changes to the popular mob.

Minecraft's Update 1.20.70/71 for the Bedrock edition doubles the health of Wolves from 20 to 40 and also doubles the amount of health they receive from being fed. Additionally, the update adds three new experimental features that can be activated. The first is Wind Charge, a new ranged weapon dropped by Breezes. Using the weapon fires a projectile similar to the Breeze's that knocks enemies back and deals damage after a direct impact. The second new experimental feature is Bogged Skeletons, a new mob variant that fires poisonous arrows. These skeletons spawn in Swamps and Mangrove Swamps, have less health, and fire arrows at a slower rate.

The third new experimental feature is the Vault block, which can be found in Minecraft's Trial Chambers. Players will need to obtain a Trial Key to unlock the block, and after doing so, the block drops valuable loot. However, a Vault block's loot can only be unlocked once by each player. Furthermore, the update implements a wide variety of bug fixes and gameplay improvements and adds another experimental feature that is relatively minor, which increases the collar size of tamed wolves and makes collars visible from all angles.
