New Console Updates Rolling Out to Xbox Insiders

Xbox has released a new Insider update for Beta, Delta, and Omega members that fixes a dynamic background bug and improves local language use. While this Insider update might not seem particularly exciting, Xbox has recently released interesting patches for the program.

Earlier in March, some Insiders received an update that significantly improved the Xbox Store's search function by allowing users to search by keywords, genres, or concepts instead of only game titles. The update was available to a randomly selected group of Insiders across all five rings of the program, which consist of Alpha Skip-Ahead, Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Omega. Although the newest Insider update isn't as flashy, it fixes a frustrating bug affecting some users.

The new Insider update addresses an error that occurred when attempting to choose a new dynamic background. The other upgrade focuses on local language use by properly reflecting these dialects across the console's interface. Xbox's patch notes include an entry explaining that Preview members may see odd text in certain sections of their user interface following the update. This is a reoccurring issue for the Insider program that Xbox refers to as «Pseudo-Loc.» Insider's March 28 update was only released for Beta, Delta, and Omega members, but Alpha members received the same improvements a day earlier, on March 27.

As usual, Xbox encourages Insider members to report any bugs they encounter, no matter how minor, on its Report a Problem page to help prepare the update for a general release. Another update that Insiders tested came in mid-March and improved Microsoft Edge stability along with other accessibility and stability upgrades. Xbox users can sign up to join the Insider program for free, where they will start as an Omega member. As their tenure grows longer and their Xbox Insider Level increases, they can graduate to more exclusive tiers that receive new updates even earlier.
