Take-Two is looking to sell or shut down its indie label, Private Division, in addition to closing Kerbal Space Program 2 developer Intercept Games and OlliOlli World developer Roll7, it’s claimed.
The Intercept Games team is reportedly being laid off next month.
Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has claimed that the publisher didn’t shut down Private Division studios Roll7 and Intercept Games, despite reports suggesting it planned to.
Early Access title Kerbal Space Program 2 is currently being review bombed on Steam, after the game's developer, Intercept Games, was closed down by Take-Two. The closure has naturally led to questions surrounding the future of Kerbal Space Program 2, which first entered Early Access in February 2023.
To celebrate its second launch week anniversary, Moon Studios releases its first Early Access patch for No Rest for the Wicked, a massive update that addresses performance concerns, bug fixes, quality of life updates, and much more. It has been a busy couple of weeks for Moon Studios, after launching its ARPG title in Early Access on Steam. The release of No Rest For the Wicked wasn't as smooth as many had hoped, however, with various issues both on the technical side and certain gameplay mechanics as well.
In the midst of its “cost reduction program,” Take-Two Interactive appears to plan to shutter two of its subsidiary studios, Intercept and Roll7. This is also in the midst of a wider layoff of about 5% of its staff, approximately 600 staffers according to some estimates, and some shut-downs of internal projects.
Take-Two publishing label Private Division has reportedly laid off the “vast majority” of its teams in Seattle, New York, Las Vegas and Munich.
