Nintendo Switch 2 Reveal Is High Likely Pre-GDC Next Month; Next Direct May Be a Partner Direct

Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to be revealed, but the wait is not going to be much longer, as a March reveal is very likely.

Speaking during the latest episode of the Nate the Hate podcast released today, the known insider commented on the reveal timing together with Digital Foundry's John Linneman, saying not only that a March reveal would make sense to get the ball rolling, it is also very likely to be before this year's edition of the Game Developers Conference, which is being held from March 18th to March 22nd. If this is indeed the truth, the reveal of the highly anticipated next console from Nintendo is only around a month away.

Speaking about the Nintendo Switch 2's specifications, which have yet to be revealed alongside the console's name and design, Nate the Hate and John Linneman discussed how much RAM the system should be expected to have. While 10 GB is considered the bare acceptable minimum, John Linneman considers 16 GB to be a possibility, especially looking at the Steam Deck's specs. Having so much RAM would make it easier for the system to run current-generation games, even with the expected visual cutbacks. As there was a lot of noise regarding the Xbox Series S RAM limitations, which eventually forced Microsoft to take a step from its parity policies to allow Larian Studios to release Baldur's Gate 3 on Xbox Series consoles, there's a very good chance Nintendo may be more generous in this regard to make developers' lives easier.

Alongside commenting on the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal window and system specifications, Nate the Hate also talked about next week's rumored Nintendo Direct, suggesting it could be a Partner Direct focused on third-party titles. If this will indeed be the case, Nintendo is most definitely keeping its first-party titles for the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal.

The Nintendo Switch 2 has yet to be officially revealed.
