Nintendo Switch 2 Is Reportedly Set for a March 2025 Launch

The Nintendo Switch 2 is launching sometime during March 2025, according to a new report shared online today.

Japanese publication Nikkei revealed in a new report shared today that the next console from the Japanese company, which was supposedly releasing this year but was recently delayed to 2025, will launch in around one year. According to the report, launching in early 2025 will allow Nintendo to secure a solid stock of consoles and have a good launch lineup featuring "popular titles."

A March 2025 release for the Nintendo Switch 2 makes much sense, even financially, as the console would still get launched in the current fiscal year. Additionally, the original Switch was also released successfully in March, so Nintendo is likely not worried about missing the 2024 Holiday shopping season. Still, without an official confirmation, we have to take this release window with a grain of salt.

Very little is currently known about the Nintendo Switch 2 as of now. The console is supposedly going to feature a bigger screen, backward compatibility with all Switch games, ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS Ray Reconstruction support, and a level of performance that will deliver smooth 1080p gaming, pretty much in line with what the Xbox Series S is capable of.
