New Helldivers 2 Operation Swift Disassembly To Destroy The Automatons Is Doomed To Fail

The objective known as Operation Swift Disassembly is an exciting push of momentum against the threat of the Automatons, but soldiers of Super Earth would be unwise to place too much stock in its success. Unlike most online multiplayer games, has a constantly updating narrative based around the tides of the Galactic War. Progress is partly determined by the community's efforts in each Major Order, but the overall path is also shaped by a game master who ultimately controls the story.

Operation Swift Disassembly is kicking off with a Major Order that tasks Helldivers with the liberation of Troost, a planet in the Trigon Sector with a comms array suspected to hold key data on Automaton plans. Like most initatives in, this is easier said than done. Taking Troost from Automaton clutches requires larger progress to move the front line of the Galactic War forward, a path that goes through Ustotu and Vandalon before arriving at the ultimate destination.

There's no reason that the mission to liberate Troost should fall through in — assuming, of course, that Super Earth's soldiers attack it with the usual gusto. Past that point, however, it's already looking like Operation Swift Disassembly won't be a successful Major Order. The big problem lies in its overarching goal to "," which would finish off one of the two opposing factions currently present in the game. Although the idea might be intriguing, there just isn't any reasonable way that would remove a huge chunk of its content so quickly.

That being said, the fact that Operation Swift Disassembly seems doomed to fail shouldn't be a reason to shirk the Major Order altogether. There's no telling what the game master might deploy in the event of soldiers failing to achieve the basic goals of the operation, and there's always a possibility that the consequences for botching the mission completely will be greater than completing it to the degree that the community is reasonably able.
