Did you really think Helldivers 2 players had wiped out the Automatons for good? Nope.
Helldivers 2's much-hyped big batch of buffs is finally here, and the devs are asking players to put that power to the test with a new Major Order. The command more or less boils down to "give 'em hell."
Helldivers 2 players may be on track to fail the current Major Order, but they've still managed to secure the beloved Orbital Napalm Barrage Stratagem that they missed out on unlocking before.
Helldivers 2 players everywhere are in agreement – the Orbital Napalm Barrage stratagem isn't just a ton of fun, it's ridiculously good. Unfortunately, that's also making saying goodbye to it rather difficult.
I love me some Helldivers 2, but I don't love me some automatons. From day one, it's been a bit of a bummer whenever the current Major Order wasn't targeting terminids, and there's a simple reason for that: It feels bad to shoot at a killer android without achieving anything. Because the automatons have so many armored enemies and the Helldivers have so few tools to reliably punch through them, the loadouts that feel worthwhile to bring along have gradually grown pretty slim. Luckily, Arrowhead's looking to change that later this month.
Unfortunately, Helldivers 2 players aren't getting their new Orbital Napalm Stratagem after all, following Arrowhead itself leaking it last month.
There's trouble in galactic paradise this week, as Helldivers 2 developers need to contend with hackers and mutineers disturbing Major Orders.
In an in-game message to players today, Arrowhead Games has revealed that cheaters short circuited Helldivers 2's latest Major Order. The studio has given out its intended reward to all non-cheating players, and in typical Helldivers fashion, couched the whole thing in Super Earth-appropriate terms within the fiction.
Helldivers 2's latest Major Order should have been tough enough to last the entire weekend, but cheaters seem to have burned through the collective community mission in just a few hours.
