Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 Official 4K Resolution Support Is Being Looked Into

The visuals of the games included in the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 may be getting some much-needed improvements in the future, according to a new development update.

In a new Production Hotline video shared today on YouTube, series producer Noriaki Okamura, confirmed that the "inadequate upscaling method" used by the collection is currently under investigation, as the team is looking into introducing native 4K support for all games with a free update. Other issues that will be fixed in the future include control configuration options, improved keyboard controls for the PC version, and some Codec/radio conversation voice fixes for the Nintendo Switch version.

Okamura san was also asked about a possible Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2. While he did say that it wouldn't be correct to say that there is no Vol.2 after naming the first collection Vol.1, he couldn't confirm any other detail at this time.

Alongside commenting on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 fixes and improvements, the new Production Hotline video also went over Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the remake of the third entry in the series. While the footage shown was already shown before, for the most part, we did get the first look at the game's title screen. Noriaki Okamura also commented on the possibility of more series remakes down the line, saying that they are waiting to see how MGS Delta will be received, and then they will decide on any other remake on a title-to-title basis.

The Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.1 is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch. The collection includes the first three entries in the series, as well as the classic Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2.
