KONAMI recently held a preview event for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, inviting select press to play the game. A few developers were also on hand to discuss the highly anticipated remake.
Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 1 hit almost a year ago, and it did so in a, uh, pretty lacklustre state. Konami never promised full-blown remasters—just basic ports of the OG Metal Gears alongside MGS 1 through 3—but even so, the versions of those games we got on PC still left a lot to be desired. There were missing options, muddy textures, audio glitches, and some versions of MGS 1 were straight-up undownloadable. All in all, not quite what you want for a series as well-loved as MGS.
Konami has said it is working on Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Volume 2, but that it’s in the process of figuring out how to handle ports of the “really big titles” in the series.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show 2024, KONAMI confirmed. The publisher didn't really share any other details on what would be in the demo, but it won't be long until they'll have to, especially since TGS 2024 is around the corner (it will be held as usual in Tokyo's Makuhari Messe between September 26 and 29).

We've gotten a few new details on the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake - or Metal Gear Solid Delta, if you prefer the official title - as part of Konami's latest Production Hotline broadcast. While the devs aren't willing to commit to a release date just yet, they did address fan questions about when the remake is finally going to launch.
A faithful remake of a beloved game, like in the case of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, can be tricky. Finding the balance between retaining what made the original special and modernizing elements that haven't aged well is a tall task for any developer. But according to production producer Noriaki Okamura in the second episode of Konami's Metal Gear Production Hotline video series, the team would still rather come down on the side of being "almost too faithful" and maintain the original design of Snake Eater.
Getting volume 1 of the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection last year felt like collecting the penultimate stone of the Infinity Gauntlet to me, a man who still essentially lives in 2005 when it comes to the videogames he plays. Finally, one of console gaming's best, biggest, most iconic series had made the transition to PC (though, to be fair, GOG had the OG PC versions of 1 and 2 for a while before that). Sure, the ports left a little to be desired, but even the rickety state of the games didn't do much to dampen my enthusiasm about finally having MGS3 on a platform I actually own.
Konami has acknowledged that Metal Gear Solid 4 is still only playable on PlayStation 3, over 15 years after its release.
