It looks like Xbox is updating its game box art

Retail listings suggest Microsoft may be planning to update the design for Xbox Series X game boxes.

Limited Run Games’ listing for Clock Tower Rewind (pictured above) features a new box art template, as does box art (below) for the newly announced Xbox version of Kena Bridge of Spirits.

Rather than listing the game’s platforms in black lettering on a white background next to the Xbox logo on the top left of the box, the platforms are listed on the top right of the updated packaging, in white lettering atop the larger background artwork.

Microsoft is gearing up to present the Xbox Games Showcase – the first to include games across Activision Blizzard, Bethesda, and Xbox Game Studios – on June 9.

Kicking off at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST, the showcase will reportedly be used to announce release dates for Xbox’s first-party line-up for the remainder of 2024.

Bethesda is said to be targeting a September release for Starfield’s Shattered Space expansion, which was recently given a fall launch window.

Activision is reportedly planning a late October release date for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, which will receive its own ‘Direct’ presentation immediately following the main Xbox event.

Avowed and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 are reportedly likely to arrive in November, and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is expected to follow in December.

The Xbox showcase could also be used to announce Gears of War 6 and a new Doom game.
