Ghost of Tsushima Releases New Update, But It Seems to Be Causing Problems

Sucker Punch releases a surprise update for Ghost of Tsushima, addressing numerous issues and preparing Crossplay functionality for the PC version, though the patch also seems to have added an unintentional side effect. Following its launch back in 2020, Ghost of Tsushima has quickly become one of Sucker Punch's best games, not only in terms of critical reviews but surpassing 10 million copies sold 2 years after launch.

While fans are expecting news of a sequel from Sucker Punch, the company has instead continued to evolve and expand the current game, first by offering a Director's Cut version with a new expansion set on Iki Island. Early in 2024, it was also revealed that Ghost of Tsushima was getting a PC release, following in the footsteps of other big PlayStation exclusives like Horizon: Zero Dawn, Days Gone, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and others. Nixxes Software is again be leading development of the PC port, which includes the Director's Cut version of the game, the Iki Island expansion, as well as PC exclusive functionality like unlockable frame rates, graphics settings, and more.

After Sucker Punch announced they were no longer updating Ghost of Tsushima back in 2022, the company shockingly just released a new patch. Taking to social media to announce the patch, Sucker Punch confirmed that Update 2.19 adds Crossplay support services in advance of the PC release on May 16. In addition, this update fixes a known XP issue related to rank 999 inside the Legends co-op mode and fixed an exploit where two-person teams were able to have an extra person. The tweet also indicates that additional fixes were made, but didn't disclose what changed.

Unfortunately for fans, it seems that the latest Ghost of Tsushima update also added an unintentional issue as well.
