Every iPhone 16 Model Is Now Equipped With 8GB RAM, Allowing The Seamless Use Of Apple Intelligence Features

Apple has been reported on several occasions to introduce an 8GB RAM upgrade for all iPhone 16 models, but there was always a sliver of a chance that the company would hit the audience with a nasty surprise. Thankfully, that was not the case here, as information uncovered in the latest version of Apple’s developer tool Xcode 16 revealed the memory count for the four models. This pretty much means that now, customers do not have to spend a premium if a RAM upgrade was at the top of their purchasing priorities.

With the help of @iSWUpdates, MacRumors discovered that even the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus will now ship with an additional 2GB RAM compared to the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Unfortunately, those who were expecting the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max to feature a memory lift will be left sorely disappointed. However, if you have already decided to secure a pre-order based on the amount of RAM you will get with Apple’s latest iPhones, it is better to wait another year because the iPhone 17 is rumored to feature 12GB RAM.

This massive specification bump should open up a ton of doors, particularly for running advanced Apple Intelligence features and giving game developers a little more room to cram in higher textures for AAA titles. Apple likely made the decision to standardize the amount of RAM on every iPhone 16 model so cloud-based and on-device generative AI features can run comfortably on the entire lineup.
