A Major The First Descendant Plot Point Makes Absolutely No Sense

Even since its beta release, has had plenty of characters that players love to hate. One of the primary examples is Jeremy, a Descendant whose unique Arche ability is teleportation. Right from the start, Jeremy makes himself an annoyance to work with, making it clear that he does not like the player. This makes his eventual betrayal an incredibly predictable twist.

While telegraphed narrative turns are often a problem because they are too heavily foreshadowed, one of the story beats in Jeremy's journey is a problem because it is not foreshadowed enough. Namely, the player character plays along with Jeremy's insistence to leave him alone with the Ironheart. This is despite the fact that Jeremy has already been shown to ignore orders and try to get the player killed. characters should know better than to leave him with such an important artifact, but the player must, for the sake of the plot.

Players should prioritize building and investing in the top-tier characters in The First Descendant, all of which are ranked right here.

From his introduction, Jeremy makes it clear that he is not a fan of the player, and is generally not a fan of the other Descendants, either. He is one of the few Descendants who is unable to talk to or see the Guide, and it is clear from his hostile attitude toward the concept that he isjealous of those who are able to communicate with her. This jealousy paves the way for his disloyalty later, and his hostile intent only grows as the player gains more success in their quest to find the Ironheart.

During the missions where Jeremy talks to the player, he makes it clear that he actually hopes the Descendant gets killed during their missions, likely to avoid hearing more praise for other people. The aggressive attitude eventually turns to action as Jeremy abandons his duties in the middle of a mission. When he finally returns to HQ, he is slapped by Alpha, one of the few Descendants who could relate to Jeremy due to not seeing the Guide either.
