Zenless Zone Zero 1.1: Release Date, New Characters, Banners, & More

After a successful launch, is bringing new content, characters, and banners in its 1.1 update, the first major patch for the game since its initial release. HoYoverse's third major release following the breakout success of the open-world and turn-based RPG, is more firmly in action game territory, emulating the likes of,, and, most closely, one of the studio's somewhat less popular titles,.

Despite the difference in genres, however, does share many similarities with both and , most notably in terms of update scheduling — all three games tend to follow a six-week patch cadence, with several smaller «interval» patches between the major «x.0» patches which happen roughly once a year. Importantly, however, even the smaller patches between major updates introduce new events, story content, and character banners, creating plenty of reasons for players to constantly keep up with each game.

A new S-Rank Bangboo for Zenless Zone Zero has leaked ahead of the 1.1 update, and players have already revealed a great deal about its abilities.

As announced in the customary HoYoverse pre-patch livestream, 1.1,, will release on August 14, 2024, and will introduce three new playable characters across two limited banners. Promotional material indicates that the patch's story content will focus mainly on the New Eridu Public Security (N.E.P.S.) faction, expanding on its somewhat minor part in the story of 1.0, where faction characters Zhu Yuan and Qingyi only made major appearances in the Chapter 2 Interlude, «Mission Unthinkable.

Alongside new story content and events, 1.1 will introduce three new characters — Qingyi, Jane Doe, and Seth Lowell, all of which will be obtainable from the two limited banners that will run over the course of the patch. Out of the three, Qingyi and Jane are S-rank Agents, with Qingyi being Electric Stun and Jane being Physical Anomaly, while Seth is an A-rank Electric Defense Agent. Notably, Qingyi and Jane have the exact same element and role combinations
