Zenless Zone Zero's Best Faction Is Getting Two New Playable Characters

Two new characters are joining the Sons of Calydon faction. Until now, all attention has been focused on the New Eridu Public Security (N.E.P.S.), the peacekeeping faction of the universe. Patch 1.1: Undercover R&B, scheduled for release on August 14, features new characters and story arcs centered around N.E.P.S. Now, developer Hoyoverse is finally shifting to the much-loved Sons of Calydon faction.

The boisterous Burnice White and the serious Caesar King have been revealed as new characters on the X (formerly Twitter) account. Both will be playable characters in the Sons of Calydon faction, which currently also includes Piper Wheel and Luciana de Montefio (also known as Lucy). At least two more characters remain unannounced.

Caesar King is the confirmed leader of the Sons of Calydon. In a few quotes shared with her reveal, fans are given a glimpse into her personality, showing her to be serious and gracious. In stark contrast to Caesar's apparently cool demeanor, Burnice White appears to be a bouncy and unpredictable character. Her quotes show her to be fiery, quite literally, as nearly all her quotes (and her name) refer to fuel.

The Sons of Calydon faction was teased back in the original launch trailer of The faction is shown to be a gang of bikers from the Outer Ring, whose members seem to be a ragtag group of outlaws. Caesar, in particular, is portrayed as a bike-riding sword-toting baddie with a dynamic design.

Caesar King (a name invoking two terms for rulers) is a central character who is a direct reference to Julius Caesar in real-world history. The faction name likely refers to the real ancient Greek city of Calydon, and their motto is "" which is an obvious nod to Julius Caesar's famous phrase "" (translated from the Latin, «v»). Caesar and Burnice will enter the game as figures to bolster the comparatively small roster of the beloved faction, which currently only has two members.
