Xbox Insiders Testing New 'Special' Feature

Xbox has released a new feature for Xbox Insiders on PC called game hubs. This feature allows PC Xbox users to quickly view their achievement progression, friend activity, and much more for any given game.

Xbox regularly adds new features to its Insider Program to test them before a global release. Recently, some Xbox Insiders received a new feature that significantly increased download speeds while a game was running. One user reported that their Xbox downloaded games at nearly 80% of their console's regular download speed. However, this feature was only rolled out to Alpha Skip-Ahead members, and it's unclear when it will be available to all users. Fortunately, Xbox just released another new Insider feature that's available to many more fans.

All Xbox Insiders on PC and a number of non-Insider Xbox PC users now have access to game hubs, which bring several quality-of-life and UI improvements to the Xbox app. Users can access a title's game hub by simply clicking on their desired game on the left sidebar. After doing so, they are shown a variety of organized information. At the top of the screen, users can see their playtime statistics and some brief achievement information. Underneath that, players are shown any recent DLC that's available to purchase or download, followed by a friend activity section. Here, users can easily compare progress, see profiles, and look at which friends are currently playing the selected game. Game hubs also expand on a previous Xbox PC update by including average completion statistics taken from HowLongToBeat.

Game hubs also include a dedicated section for achievements, which Xbox might be changing soon, that shows users most of the relevant achievement-hunting information as well as a couple of «hero stats,» which are a selection of in-game statistics. Additionally, game hubs include an «Add-ons» section that shows available microtransactions, and a «From the developer» section that shows the user all recent updates or announcements.
