Xbox Game Pass Subscribers Should Keep an Eye on March 5

Next Tuesday, March 5 should be a big day for Xbox Game Pass, as it's highly likely that will be the day Microsoft announces the Wave 1 games for March 2024. While there have been rare exceptions to the rule, Xbox Game Pass announcements usually come in two waves. The first wave is typically announced at the beginning of each month, while the second wave announcement tends to drop in the middle of the month.

Most of the time, the Xbox Game Pass announcements happen within the first couple of days of the month, but it seems that won't be the case for March 2024. The first few days of March 2024 land on a weekend, and Microsoft usually shares the Game Pass announcements early in the week. Besides that, the new Xbox Game Pass game coming on March 5 was bundled with the February 2024 Wave 2 announcement, meaning that it's highly unlikely that Microsoft will be pulling the curtain back on the other early March 2024 games before then.

Tuesday, March 5 will mark the first new Xbox Game Pass addition for March 2024 in the form of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun, a «boomer shooter» that earned somewhat mixed reviews at the time of its original release. Fans of retro FPS games or the Warhammer 40K franchise may still get a kick out of it, though. The addition of a new game makes March 5 a day to watch for Xbox Game Pass subscribers already, but the potential for it to also include the March 2024 Wave 1 announcement makes that day a particularly exciting one for subscribers.

As it stands, there are only five games confirmed for Xbox Game Pass in March 2024 so far, and almost all of them are coming in the second half of the month, meaning the Wave 1 additions are almost a complete mystery at this point.
