WWE 2K24’s confirmed final roster seemingly removes Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar

2K Sports has revealed the final playable roster for WWE 2K24, and it appears to be missing Vince McMahon and Brock Lesnar.

The final roster consists of 204 playable superstars – including 70 ‘Legends’ wrestlers who are no longer on the current roster – and eight managers.

However, former WWE CEO and chairman Vince McMahon, and 7-time WWE Champion and 3-time WWE Universal Champion Lesnar, are notably absent from the list.

Lesnar had previously been depicted on the cover of the game’s premium Forty Years of WrestleMania Edition, which featured a montage of superstars past and present.

However, he was removed from the cover earlier this month after being linked to sexual misconduct allegations against McMahon.

McMahon quit the organisation after ex-WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit accusing him and a former executive of sexually assaulting and trafficking her to entice wrestling talent.

In the suit, Grant alleged that McMahon directed her to create explicit photos for a WWE star he was trying to re-sign.

While not explicitly named in the complaint, people said to be familiar with the matter told the Wall Street Journal that the wrestler in question was Lesnar, who was also recently removed from mobile game WWE SuperCard and who hasn’t been seen on WWE television since the lawsuit was filed.

WWE 2K24 is set to celebrate the anniversary of WWE’s biggest event with its Showcase mode, which lets players recreate 21 of the biggest matches from WrestleMania history.

Given his intial appearance on the cover, it seemed all but certain that at least one of these matches was to involve Lesnar – most likely his ending of The Undertaker’s win streak at WrestleMania 30 – but now it’s not clear whether this content has been removed from the game.

VGC has reached out to 2K for comment and will update this article should they reply.

The latest edition of the WWE 2K series will be released on March 8, and will be available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
