Wayfinder's Echoes Update Gets PlayStation Certification, Return to Sale

Several months after Wayfinder’s big Echoes update effectively rebooted the game on PC, developer and publisher Airship Syndicate announced that Echoes has gotten PlayStation 5 certification. This means that the game, now a premium title with optional co-op, will return to sale for the platform next week.

The Echoes update and two subsequent quality of life updates wereboth certified by Sony, so for those PlayStation Wayfinder players, you'll get the new and relaunched content soon. Airship Syndicate wanted Wayfinder to continue to be available to enjoy, but there were some bumps in the road, like losing original publisher Digital Extremes, taking development and publishing in-house, and even some layoffs. Echoes was their relaunch to meet those goals.

Among the changes are you can play the whole game offline, and there's also optional Co-op with up to two other players if you choose to play with others.  This is the biggest change, since Wayfinder is now a buy once premium title with no monetization. All previous Founders items and other content can be obtained in game just by playing. Some of the other changes include matchmaking, a new zone, expanded player housing, and a new Wayfinder, Grendel.

As for the quality of life updates that accompany the Echoes update changes,  those include improved air control,  better smart targeting, improved camera, and a new improved loot system. They've allowed more flexible settings and remapping opportunities, environmental fixes, and  a server browser in game.

Wayfinder will return to sale on the PlayStation Store next week, and continues to be available on Steam.
