Twitch Streamer Gets Attacked for Public Filming

In a notable incident unfolding on the streets of London, an IRL Twitch streamer found themselves at the center of a confrontation. While engaged in live-streaming to their audience, the Twitch streamer was approached by an individual who expressed anger, asserting the illegality of filming in public spaces.

IRL streams, or «In Real Life» streams, have become popular content on platforms like Twitch, offering viewers a glimpse into the streamer's daily life and adventures. These streams offer a spectrum of experiences, ranging from delightful and amusing interactions with strangers on the streets to unexpected challenges. However, alongside the entertainment, there have been instances where IRL streamers have faced unfortunate incidents such as robbery or physical attacks while broadcasting live. One noteworthy example occurred in January 2023 when the police arrested a man for aggressively pursuing and verbally assaulting a well-known Thai Twitch streamer during her live IRL broadcast.

On February 16, Twitch streamer Satuye found himself in a heated altercation with an individual during his IRL stream, adding to a troubling trend of content creators facing violence during live streams. The streamer was holding some meat when an unidentified person approached him, questioning his filming activities. Without waiting for a response, the stranger knocked the food out of Satuye's hand, accusing him of unauthorized recording and threatening to damage his equipment. Despite Satuye's protests, the aggressor refused to back off, prompting the streamer to leave rather than escalate the situation.

Following the incident, Satuye shared his thoughts on X, suggesting that while he didn't intend to withdraw, he felt obliged to do so to prevent a potential Twitch ban.
