Top Spin 2K25 Patch Finally Adds Online Exhibitions Against Friends
As we revealed in our exclusive interview with developer Hangar 13, Top Spin 2K25 did not launch with any option to play against friends, being limited to random matchmaking only.
That changes with today's update, a download of around 440.5 MB on Steam. Hangar 13 have added the following features:

- A social menu used to manage your 2K friends and platform friends
- An entire social system which will let you invite your 2K friends and platform friends to online private matches
- The Vivox Voice Chat System, which allows communication in online matches
You can also add friends from other platforms, but you will need to add their 2K Name, not the name they use on their platform directly. There are two easy ways to find your 2K Name, which you'll share with your Cross Play friends.
- In your 2K Account on the web, you can see your Display Name on the Account Details tab
- In TopSpin 2K25, you can find it in Main Menu > Settings > 2K Account
Unfortunately, the game still lacks any options to play doubles online, which is a shame (as noted in my impressions piece), given that the original Top Spin already allowed that when it launched in 2003 for the original Xbox. Hangar 13's Game Director Remi Ercolani told Wccftech that the developers were hoping to offer more options after launch; let's hope a future patch adds this much-awaited feature to Top Spin 2K25.
Meanwhile, if you're playing the game, you can use the locker code CLAYSEASON to unlock 5 100% XP Boosts and a Lacoste Men's Tennis Polo.
