Today's Connections Hints & Answers For May 14, 2024 (Puzzle #337)

Tuesday, May 14 has provided us with new to solve, and today's bunch of categories could be a bit difficult for some fans to decipher. There are a few niche topics and some very well-crafted misdirections. Take your time with today's game or you'll be in for a loss.

Taking your time is one of the better tips for solving a puzzle. Sometimes you can get so excited trying to score a category that doesn't exist. Taking time, and focusing on the actual connections between the words, could mean the difference between a win and a loss. Another option is to just read the answers below, it's cool, we won't tell anyone.

The Spelling Bee puzzles created as a New York Times game build a streak of correct answers to get you more points, but they can be hard to keep.

Before jumping head-first into the answers, we wanted to provide the daily categories for those who just need a little push in the right direction.

Yellow was our second category score for the day, we actually scored the purple category first. It's always a treat when you get the hardest one first. We did end up wasting an attempt or two on making SUP and YO work with other words, but once we dismissed that it went much quicker. For yellow though, DRAFT and SKETCH were the words that got us started on this one. It all quickly came together once we saw how OUTLINE fit in as well.

ENJOY A MEAL

DINE

FEAST

FEED

SUP

Okay, we need to talk about this one. SUP? No one uses SUP to mean «Enjoy A Meal.» Is this like the root of «Supper»? I had to Google it just to see and it's defined as «take (drink or liquid food) by sips or spoonfuls.» Okay, I guess. This will now be the word I use for food-related anything. «Katie, come on in and sup.»

Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.
