Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Players Have to Wait Longer Than Expected for Next Patch

Fans and players of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League may end up waiting longer than they planned to for the game's next scheduled update. According to developer Rocksteady, the team is prioritizing testing planned fixes to make sure they're ready for deployment to the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League servers and clients.

Suicide Squad has had a rough go of things since its launch in early February 2024. Multiple delays and leaks resulted in backlash against the game before it was even released. Following launch, audience fatigue over the proliferation of live-service elements also contributed to a lukewarm reception, causing publisher Warner Bros. to declare that Suicide Squad sales were disappointing. Nevertheless, the game maintains an audience, and developer Rocksteady remains committed to deploying a promised four seasons of content for the game through 2024.

Despite Rocksteady's committment, though, new issues and problems with Suicide Squad stability are affecting its ability to bring out updates on schedule. The patch notes covering the March 1 Suicide Squad update included a comment about the next patch. That patch was originally scheduled to deploy «next week,» indicating the week of March 8, 2024. The patch will be delayed to an unspecified date. Testing new updates is needed, as the second Suicide Squad patch introduced a new bug that blocked progress for some players.

According to Rocksteady's comment, the team must focus on deploying the free Season 1 Update in March. The Suicide Squad Season 1 Update will add the Joker as a playable character. It'll also add new gear, environments, and other fresh content for existing players.

That said, Rocksteady won't leave players interested in seeing more bug fixes in the lurch. Rocksteady said it is prioritizing fixes to outstanding multiplayer issues and problems with login. An update is in the works that will not require a client-side patch, so players won't have to download new files to potentially see
