Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard Shares Surprising Video Game Movie Idea

Stranger Things icon and video game lover Finn Wolfhard shared his rather shocking and surprising idea for a potential movie based on a classic arcade game recently, with the game in question being Crazy Taxi. Wolfhard is currently wrapping up production on the fifth and final season of Netflix's hit series Stranger Things, but he still has time to pitch some truly wacky ideas for movies.

Amid fighting back tears between rounds of increasingly hot wings on the newest episode of the viral YouTube sensation that is Hot Ones, a show found on the First We Feast YouTube channel, the actor pitched a rather mad idea for a potential video game movie to charismatic and knowledgeable host Sean Evans. While being one of the world's most up-and-coming names in Hollywood, Wolfhard is also passionate about the video game industry, becoming a video game influencer thanks to his role in the PlayStation Player program, which he joined in 2023.

The idea is equal parts shocking and hilarious, with Wolfhard going to bat for a movie based on the classic Crazy Taxi series. This iconic range of racing games began in 1999 as an actual arcade machine and was published by Sega, a company already infamous for its Sonic games. Due to its popularity, Crazy Taxi eventually made its way to home consoles like the Dreamcast but remained an over-the-top cult classic arcade game throughout the years.

Wolfhard's idea for a Crazy Taxi film would also over-the-top as well, but differ quite a bit from the source material, as he stated in the YouTube video. “I had an idea to do a Crazy Taxi movie, and the idea was like it’s Collateral, but it’s Crazy Taxi. I think that would be very fun.”

Collateral, the classic action flick from 2004 sees Hollywood icon Tom Cruise portraying a hitman who is tasked with driving Jamie Foxx around the city as he complete various contracts. Crazy Taxi is known for being arcade-friendly, but Wolfhard's vision seems to involve a lot more violence.
