Hasbro Has More Dungeons and Dragons Video Games Planned

Hasbro teased more video games based on Dungeonsand Dragons are in the works from the company's developers, following Larian Studios' recent announcement about its future. As one of the most iconic tabletop RPGs in gaming, the beloved franchise from Wizards of the Coast has welcomed a variety of different games to its library. The Forgotten Realms have been home to many video games, ranging from the Baldur's Gate franchise to Gameloft's newly announced Dungeons and Dragons survival RPG. Now, following Baldur's Gate 3's success, Hasbro reportedly has more on the way.

After the overwhelming success of Baldur's Gate 3 last year, developer Larian Studios made a surprising announcement about the series' future earlier this week. CEO Swen Vicke confirmed that Larian would not be pursuing either DLC or a sequel to Baldur's Gate 3, following the conclusion of Baldur's Gate 3's post-launch patches. A spokesperson for Hasbro would tease «more awesome D&D games» in development from Hasbro and its associated developers, hinting at future games to come for the franchise. The statement would also praise Larian for its work with Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro, calling the studio an «incredible partner» during the collaboration. No official detail was given about any of the in-development projects by Hasbro.

The teaser about future Dungeons and Dragons games follows a long and storied history of video games for the beloved tabletop RPG. With Dungeons and Dragons' first versions published in 1974, the franchise has seen game releases dating as far back as the early 1980s. Dungeons and
