Stormgate Steam Demo Already Supports NVIDIA DLSS 3

A new Steam Next Fest is now in full swing, featuring tons of interesting demos, including that of Stormgate.

The real-time strategy game in development at Frost Giant Studios, a team built by ex Blizzard employees who wanted to make the next-generation RTS since Blizzard wouldn't take care of that. Among its various features is the addition of rollback netcode, usually a prerogative of fighting games but apparently also useful for real-time strategy titles.

Stormgate had a massive Kickstarter campaign in December, smashing its base goal in less than fifteen minutes and finishing with $2.38 million in pledges from the community, ranking #17th in the all-time funding chart of the gaming category.

Now, players can finally check out the game with the newly released demo, and NVIDIA says the RTS already supports NVIDIA DLSS 2 (Super Resolution) and 3 (Frame Generation) to enhance performance. The latter is, of course, reserved for owners of the GeForce RTX 40 Series graphic cards.

According to Frost Giant Studios, the Stormgate demo (which is also available through NVIDIA's cloud platform GeForce NOW) provides access to the current closed beta phase, codenamed "Elephant." The developers also warned this is an early preview, so users should expect to find placeholder assets, unoptimized performance, and just two playable factions (the third one will be revealed in the coming months). The early access launch of Stormgate is currently slated for mid-2024.

In their weekly DLSS update, NVIDIA also noted that Atomic Heart, which has just gotten its second DLC titled 'Trapped in Limbo', supports DLSS 2 & 3, and Reflex. Call of Duty: Warzone begins its second season tomorrow with support for DLSS 2, DLSS 3, DLAA, and Reflex. Lastly, the story-driven dark fantasy action/adventure game The Inquisitor will be released on Thursday, February 8 with DLSS 2 support.
