Stellar Blade Fans Hijack Indie Game Post

Angry Stellar Blade fans have hijacked a recent tweet about the upcoming indie game Crow Country. Stellar Blade was released last month to mostly positive reviews. It's earned a great deal of praise for its graphics and intense melee combat, but Stellar Blade has not been without controversy.

Shortly after launch, some fans accused Stellar Blade of censoring certain costumes in the game. The uproar caused enough of a stir to see a Stellar Blade petition demanding that the perceived censorship be reversed earn over 76,000 signatures and counting. The Stellar Blade petition is one way that fans have voiced their discontent, but now some have also taken to Twitter to hijack a post about an unrelated game.

PlayStation recently sent out a tweet promoting the upcoming indie game Crow Country, a survival-horror title that serves as a throwback to classic PS1 horror games. While some of the comments on the tweet are about Crow Country, many of them are about Stellar Blade, promoting the «Free Stellar Blade» fan campaign and criticizing PlayStation. Clearly, some fans hold PlayStation responsible for the changes they think were made to Stellar Blade. PlayStation has yet to acknowledge the situation, but it seems unlikely that any changes will be made to Stellar Blade as a result of the complaints.

The Stellar Blade controversy isn't the only one that PlayStation is currently dealing with. Another headache has come about thanks to Helldivers 2 requiring Steam users to link to a PlayStation Network account. This decision has seen Helldivers 2 review bombed, as many PC gamers are unhappy with the situation. Like with Stellar Blade, it's unclear if the fan complaints are going to lead to any meaningful change, but it will certainly be interesting to see what happens moving forward.
