Stellar Blade Developers Paid ‘Special Attention’ to Eve’s Backside

Stellar Blade developers have opened up about protagonist Eve's character design. As the team's first major console release, Stellar Blade marks a notable evolution from Shift Up's prior works like Goddess of Victory: Nikke. Attention has turned to the developers' stylistic choices in light of their transition beyond the mobile sphere.

Formerly known as Project Eve, Stellar Blade has garnered ongoing attention since its initial reveal. Developed by Shift Up, a studio transitioning from mobile to high-end console development, the game aims to deliver a visually striking world and action-oriented gameplay. The recent PlayStation State of Play provided new details, including a post-apocalyptic setting and further glimpses of protagonist Eve's central role.

In a recent interview with Gamesradar+, Hyung-Tae Kim, the game director of Stellar Blade, disclosed that particular attention was paid to Eve's backside. He stated, «When it comes to the design, we put special attention on the back of the character because the player is always facing the back of the character when they're playing.» Designed around the body scan of Korean model Shin Jae-eun, this design decision for the protagonist was based on the player's perspective, as they predominantly view the character's back during gameplay. Set to release on April 26, 2024, Stellar Blade offers players an immersive experience. Players step into the role of Eve, an enigmatic protagonist sent to Earth to reclaim it from the Naytiba, a sinister invading force. Over the course of Stellar Blade's story, Eve pieces together Earth's fateful history, discovering the true complexity surrounding her mission. Blending narrative depth with
