Steam Users Have 2 Free Games to Claim Right Now

For a limited time, Steam users have two free games that they can add to their digital libraries and keep forever. Steam giveaways may not be as predictable as the free games given away through the Epic Games Store, but users on Valve's platform still have multiple free games to claim each year. Those that have made sure to snag the free Steam games whenever they are available should have amassed a sizable collection by now.

From now until February 15, Steam users can claim Dead Island: Riptide on Steam completely free of charge. Plus, RPG Maker XP is free on Steam until February 19. As long as one claims the games before their free availability windows are up, they will have access to them indefinitely. Dead Island: Riptide typically retails for $19.99, while RPG Maker XP is usually $24.99, so Steam users are effectively getting $45 worth of free games if they claim them in time.

For those unfamiliar with the two games, Dead Island: Riptide is a spin-off of the Dead Island series, offering a smaller-scale adventure that builds heavily on the mechanics seen in the first Dead Island game. Its recent reviews have pegged it with a «Mixed» overall rating, though its overall reviews on Steam are «Mostly Positive.» RPG Maker XP, meanwhile, was first released in 2005, and it has earned «Overwhelmingly Positive» recent reviews and «Very Positive» overall reviews.

The Dead Island: Riptide freebie is purposefully timed to drum up more interest in the zombie-slaying franchise. It was recently announced
