Pokemon Fans Think They Know What the Legends: Z-A Starters Will Be

According to the leading theory online, Pokemon Legends: Z-A's starter Pokemon will potentially be Servine, Torchic, and Piplup. There aren't many details for Pokemon Legends: Z-A yet, but fans can safely assume that it will be retaining some of the defining traits of its predecessor, the critically-acclaimed Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

As Pokemon fans will recall, Pokemon Legends: Arceus broke a main series tradition by not introducing three brand-new starter Pokemon. Instead, Pokemon Legends: Arceus starters were pulled from three different generations of games. Pokemon Legends: Arceus players are given the chance to choose from Rowlet, Cyndaquil, or Oshawott at the start of the game, and fans assume Pokemon Legends: Z-A will carry on that tradition by offering three starters from three different generations.

It should be stressed that the Pokemon Legends: Z-A starters have not actually been announced at the time of this writing, but the leading theory is that they will be Servine, Torchic, and Piplup. As pointed out by GamesRadar, this theory has been formed for two reasons. For one, the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC trailer showcased the Arceus starters alongside Servine, Torchic, and Piplup, and secondly, that trio of Pokemon all potentially fit the French theme of the Kalos region, where Z-A is set.

Servine evolves into Serperior, who is inspired by French nobility; Torchic evolves into Blaziken, who is inspired by roosters, France's national animal; and finally, Piplup evolves into Empoleon, named after Napoleon Bonaparte. Now, all of this could just be a coincidence, so fans should keep that in mind. However, it does seem that Servine, Torchic, and Piplup would make the most sense as the starters for Pokemon Legends: Z-A, considering their connections with France.

Pokemon fans will have to wait for an official announcement to be sure, and it's unclear exactly when such a reveal will take place. We know that Pokemon Legends: Z-A is releasing in 2025, and there will
