Starfield vs. Skyrim & Fallout 4: Player Compares Every Quest

Upon its release, drew plenty of comparisons to Bethesda Game Studios' other major RPGs and and now one fan has shared a detailed infographic to spotlight a major contrast between the projects: Quests. It's no secret that Bethesda goes out of its way to stuff its games full of quests for players to accept with the promise of new equipment or impacting the world in some way. One of the biggest complaints about is the quality of its quest design, an issue that's easier to see thanks to a comprehensive guide.

Shared to Reddit by user JarusinTheStars, the player shared the comprehensive breakdown of all the written quests in,, and alongside one another, spotlighting a major difference in the amount of content in each game.

Including every possible activity in the game that crops up as a quest, has 360, has 180, and has 300, clearly indicating that the fifth holds the crown in this particular contest. Yet while has nearly as many missions as, the community has expressed its disappointment in the quality of the writing.

While it's no doubt impressive seeing the amount of quests offers in comparison to its older siblings,the community widely believes that the actual content of the missions is lackluster at best. Players have openly lamented the fact that the vast majority of quests generally require players to proceed to a location, talk to an NPC, and then move along to a different area. When held up against those seen in and , they feel fairly meaningless and bloated, like a means of filling the world rather than encouraging the player to leave their mark on the game.

JarusinTheStars does note that the infographic is intended to demonstrate raw numbers and doesn't reflect the quality of the quests themselves. Players have responded by speculating what would have been like if it featured 's number of missions focused on a more condensed area instead of the sprawling expanse of space.
