Stardew Valley Player Makes Surprising Update 1.6 Discovery

The release of Stardew Valley Update 1.6 introduced a number of new crops, including carrots, which one player discovered could be used to feed horses for a speed boost. Developer Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone included a number of major changes and minor fixes in Stardew Valley Update 1.6, with more patches on the way, and fans have been sharing a number of surprise discoveries from the new content additions.

First released in 2016, Stardew Valley is a life-sim game with farming, foraging, fishing, mining, and crafting mechanics. Players have praised the indie title for its pixel aesthetic, endearing characters, wholesome storytelling, and relaxing gameplay. The game received its biggest patch to date with Update 1.6, which includes more crops for players to grow, sell, and utilize in surprising ways.

Stardew Valley player Hansekins unexpectedly found out that players can use the new carrot crop to feed horses, giving the rideable mounts a slight speed boost. Crops in Stardew Valley serve as the main focus of the game, offering players the ability to grow various foods through different seasons to fulfill bundle requirements in the Community Center, complete notice board request, and even cook dishes to boost their character's stats. However, Update 1.6 allows stat boosts from carrots to be used with horses. With the new carrots in Update 1.6, players can now feed their horse for an approximate 6% speed increase. While the change may be small, it can help make traveling around Pelican Town a bit faster and adds a fun interactive element with the horses.

Fans have been enjoying all the new content additions in Stardew Valley Update 1.6, along with further changes introduced in patches 1.6.1-3. Some of the biggest updates include seasonal outfits for NPCs, wearable hats for pets, over 100 additional lines of dialogue, the new Meadowlands Farm,
